Why a post box at your wedding?

With modern times moving forward and leaving the olden days behind us, it is now accepted to ask for monetary gifts. With a growing number of couples requesting money & vouchers instead of gifts, as most household items are already owned.

Most people much prefer to choose their own style of items hence the reason for vouchers or money,  as everybody’s taste is different.

It’s often a worry for guests who don’t quite know what to do with that expensive envelope they' re clutching all day and night as there is no longer the  traditional big gift table set out at a wedding. Even if there is a small gift table, people tend not to feel at ease just leaving an envelope around.

There not many products readily available for a wedding which is personalised and also matches your colour scheme, making it a one-of- a-kind and your own unique product. Its also a very nice touch to have the special thank you message on the front of your post box showing appreciation for your gift.

Because some of our products are personalised, our team of staff   can  advise and adapt a style and colour scheme to suit your needs, as everybody’s style is different making each post box an individual unique product. You can choose anything from doves to be placed on it, to colourful berries and fruits ;  the choice is yours !

Our Post box’s do justice to the occasion as well as being secure.

It's not until you attend a wedding and see what a potential nightmare it could be if a Post Box is not present, (Mum and Dad walking around with a carrier bag collecting  envelopes, Best-man getting tipsy and cant remember where he put them, kids playing paper airplanes with them .......  ). It  could be utter chaos and an uneceassary hassle you don't need on your wedding day....and it truly is devastating the next day (as I have learnt from so many brides from the past) when reality hits home and many monetary gifts are  discovered missing.

After the big day, the personalised Post Box is a fantastic keepsake box to store all of those treasured items which seem to get lost in years to come ie. cards,  shoes,  tiara,  place cards,  invitation,  video,  champagne cork,  horse shoes etc etc.

These will stay protected for  a  lifetime in your precious Wedding Box that you can take out and look at in future years to come.

Hot Tips

If you have any concern about asking your guest for money/vouchers and really don’t know how to word it on your invite here are some useful tips from previous brides and the best approach to take:

"Your presence at our wedding is more important to us than your presents, but many people have already asked if we have a gift list but there really are no household items we need. If you wish to make a good will gesture then please make cheque payable to..........

If you wish to buy us a gift...............vouchers would be greatly appreciated.

"We have been living together for some time as most of you know so we're hoping that people won't feel obliged to buy us the obligatory toasters etc.
........... gift vouchers would be greatly appreciated as we are planning to buy some furniture from there soon.

However, we hope that you do not feel obliged to bring a gift, it's your company at our wedding that we will value most.

As you know we both had our own houses prior to moving in together so don’t really need another toaster!

However we are planning on a very special honeymoon to the Bahamas and without sounding cheeky would be grateful for any contributions you may wish to make towards this!

Unfortunately we cannot have a “gift list” at the travel agents so please make cheques payable to “??” or "??” – you may be able to help us upgrade our seats on the plane, or even pay for us to swim with dolphins!

Thank you for helping us to make our dreams come true. It’s even a good idea to put on your invite that a post box will be present, giving your guests peace of mind and reassurance of their safety.

Make a big feature of your Post Box by having it on the table with the cake and bridesmaid bouquets.Throw away cameras also get lost or misplaced, they too can get posted into the post box to safe guard those irreplaceable photo’s memories that can never be replaced.

Always a good idea to tell your best man to guide all the guests to your postbox, leaving the happy couple hassle free.As the guest arrive and post the ir cards into the Post Box it’s a nice idea to have next to it on the table a message guest book so the guest’s can write the happy couple a special message.

Horror Stories

Make your marriage a successful one and don’t be a victim of crime on your magical day and have your monetary gift cards, lost stolen or thrown away....

Planning a wedding can be rather hectic with so much to do, but one of the most common things a bride and groom forget to do is to arrange for their monetary gifts to be placed in a safe secure place.Giving everyone peace of mind on the special day.

You may be thinking WHY and along the lines of: My family and friends wouldn't do that to us. But it's not always just the guests at your wedding. There could be hotel staff, caterers, bar staff and just plain old guests who too are staying at that hotel wandering around.

Hmmm Now I know you have a serious thought in your mind, don't be the ones with a long face and saying the day after your wedding WHAT, HOW, WHY, WHEN, WHO COULD OF, OH NO......!!!!

Here a just a few very sad stories from couples who never imagined this could possibly happen to them and now it's too late.

"I was at a wedding last year, a very good friend of mine and she had all of her cards stolen but they hadn't been opened so they don't know how much money had been taken. They where desperately trying to find out the following day who the thief could have been, which put a real grey cloud over there honeymoon. They never didn find out who stole them all". Vicky, Surrey

"At my cousins wedding not long ago the father of the bride was collecting all the cards in a carrier bag, he then handed it to the best-man who slipped the bag under his coat and went and put it into the boot of his car, But denied ever having it. He was later caught on CCTV!!!!!!!" Tracy, Herts

"Unfortunately I lost touch with one of my closet friends for a while. She had just a few of her cards stolen which the happy couple didn't notice for a while, but one of the cards that had been stolen happened to be mine. She had thanked all of our friends for their gifts but never thanked me for the £50 M & S voucher I had put into my card with special message. I thought it was a difficult subject to bring up so I just avoided her because I was hurt. My friend too was disappointed and thought that I had not given her a gift on her special day. Little did we both know that the gift was never received and was stolen.Luckily we have now resumed our friendship, but it was such a horrible situation to be in". Nikki, Essex

"I was at a wedding and couldn't believe my eyes, there was cards just left everywhere, on the tables on the bar and to top it all I even saw some kids playing frisbies with them, they don't know how many cards where lost". Steve, Romford

"Wow I went to the most beautiful wedding ie fantastic table decorations that's why I was astonished to see just a cardboard box on the table for receiving all cards etc. Sadly for my friends the box was thrown away by the hotel due to a guest mistaking the box for rubbish and throwing their plate from the buffet into it. Which ment other guests then followed doing the same. The box was never found". Sharon, Grimsby

"It was really sad at my sister's wedding because my dad was collecting all the cards that contained money/vouchers in a bag, whilst walking around chatting to the guests and getting merry. He placed the bag down and forgot where he'd had put it. I felt so sorry for him and my sister because this sent panic stations threw the reception, yep you guessed it the lights came on DJ stopped playing and everyone was on their hands and knees looking for the bag even the Bride and Groom were on the floor and it all got quite upsetting.Luckily it was finally found under a coat on a chair. Relief!!!!! but what a hassle and it did spoil the atmosphere for a while". Tina, Kent
